Structuring the Future of Europe’s Railways Conference - Brussels 4 March 2009
On 4 March 2009, EIM, the association of European Rail Infrastructure Managers, will be holding its annual conference in Brussels.
The theme of this year’s event, entitled “Structuring the Future of Europe’s Railways,” will be the concept of rail corridors.
The issues to be explored will include the revision of the TEN-T regulation throughout 2009, as well as the concepts of Green Corridors, the Freight Oriented Network, best practice in corridor governance, and how to integrate the Central and Eastern European Countries into European corridors.
Gerwin Zomer of RETRACK will give a presentation in session 2, which will focus on the development of the Freight Oriented Network and the recently published Commission proposal for a Regulation on competitive rail freight.
